Lesley Richey-Smith, DPM, FACFAS, was born and raised in Oklahoma. She completed her undergraduate work at Kansas Wesleyan University. She then completed a three-year surgical residency program at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville (Texas). The program specializes in forefoot, rearfoot and ankle reconstruction. Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Richey-Smith became an attending physician there, where she participated in teaching the resident doctors for four years. Dr. Richey-Smith received her doctorate in podiatric medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA where she graduated eighth in her class and was inducted into the Pi Delta National Honor Society. Dr. Richey-Smith is Board Certified in Foot Surgery, and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Dr. Richey-Smith has a special interest in pediatric flatfoot reconstruction, as well as older patients who have foot pain secondary to flat feet and arthritic conditions. She also specializes in surgical reconstruction for patients who have had previous trauma. In addition, she has a strong interest in teaching and mentoring. Dr. Richey-Smith re-located to the Denton area in 2012 with her husband and their two children.
